The following is a case report of reticulum cell sarcoma in the humerus treated with irradiation therapy and surgical excision. On March 27, 1969, a 24 Year old man was admitted with complaints of a moderate tender, thumb tip sized mass on the right distal humerus of 2i years duration. It was diagnosed as reticulum cell sarcoma of the right humerus and axillary lymph nodes by pathological biopsy. Following local irradiation of the axillary lymph nodes, on April ?, 1969, local irraadiation in doses of 200 r/day for 15 days was begun.
After 32 months the sarcoma recurred, it was surgically excised and secondary local irradiation was given in doses of 200r/daY for ~ days. There has been no evidence of local or systemic recurrence during the 2 year period following the secondary irradiation.
